Unfortunately, owing to circumstances
beyond our control, tomorrow's 'friendly fund
raiser' versus Uttoxeter Town FC has now had to
be cancelled...
Please spread the
word...
So it's back to 'league
action' here at Hillsfield next Saturday
(25/11/23),
when we welcome Redgate Clayton FC for our
second 'Catering Butchers Derby' in what I'm
sure will be an extremely tough test for the
Romans - bearing in mind that Redgate have won every single game that they've played - including cup matches -
so far this season...
If ever
Rocester needed the support of the crowd,
this is the time...
So if you're at a
loose end on Saturday afternoon, make sure
that you're in good voice and come on down
to Hillsfield, and get behind the lads...
PLEASE NOTE...
THIS IS A 2:30pm KICK-OFF...
Come On
You Romans!!!!
**Wednesday
15th November 2023**
Many thanks to FC Premier 2008 from the West Midlands Regional League
who very
kindly agreed to play us here at Hillsfield
tonight in a friendly...
We are extremely grateful as this game provided the Romans with some much needed match time - especially for the many players returning from injury - and also following the postponement of the previous two matches...
We would also like to take this opportunity to wish FC Premier
all the very best for the remainder of this season's
campaign...
Once again, many thanks!

****A VERY BIG "THANK YOU"****
A very big "thank you" for all the offers of help and support which we are continuing to receive...
The latest news is that Uttoxeter Town FC have very kindly invited us to play them in a friendly at Oldfields next Tuesday (31st October), kicking off at 7:45pm with proceeds going towards our emergency fund...
The club would also like to say a special thanks to our
long-serving (or is that long-suffering?) sponsors, Hill &
Webster , for
their very generous £500 donation...
In addition, many thanks are due to the Staffs Senior County League for rescheduling fixtures in order to provide us with the time it will take to implement repairs to the ground...
Also, BBC Radio Stoke have 'picked up' on our situation on social media and will be broadcasting an interview with our chairman (Dave Jackson) at 7:50 tomorrow morning...
We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown to us and hopefully, with all this help,
and with a 'following wind', the football ground will soon be 'good to go'...
Once again, we would like to say a very big "thank you" to everyone who has helped us in our time of need!

******THE
AFTERMATH******
Following the flood we were faced with a
devastating scene...
What with the clubhouse, kitchen
and changing rooms being flooded with a thick layer of mud
and then the sight of the fencing at both ends of the
ground...
It was enough to make you want to weep!!!
However, many thanks are due to the dedicated volunteers who turned up this morning and did a sterling job in and around the clubhouse and changing rooms...
Also many thanks are due to Ashbourne FC and Redgate Clayton
FC who upon hearing about our plight, immediately offered to come and help
with the clean up...
Obviously, we need time to let the flood water recede before we can start work replacing the fencing and with that in mind, our commercial manager
- Joel Hollingsworth - has started a 'Go Fund Me' page in order to raise some of the much-needed cash required...
Failing
that, you can go to the Rocester Football Club 'Facebook'
page by clicking on the link elsewhere on this page, and
checking out the posts for more information, photos and
videos...
Once again, your help will be greatly appreciated...
Many thanks are due to our kit sponsors...
"ABODE Sales & Lettings"
Also,
many thanks are due to our ground sponsor...
"The Catering Butcher"
Next Match...
Ashbourne FC v Rocester FC
The
'Derby'
Previous Match...
Rocester FC 0-2 Redgate
Clayton FC
A decent performance from the Romans and many positives to take
away from a match which saw lots of action including yet another penalty
save from Lewis Jackson and a blistering long-range shot from Mo
Al-Amin at the other end - which Redgate's 'keeper did well to tip
over the bar...
At times, Redgate appeared to be more than a little 'rattled' when
they didn't have it all their own way as the Romans insisted on
playing good, entertaining football and you certainly wouldn't have
known that the two teams are currently at opposite ends of the
table...
***********
Friday night (1/12/23),sees us back in action as we take on
Ashbourne FC 'away' at Hillsfield - this is
after all, Ashbourne's 'Home' fixture...
As ever, hot & cold drinks and food will be
available and as usual, the bar will be
open...
So if you want to see another entertaining and
'hard-fought' match, played in front of a
decent crowd, come on down to Hillsfield and
get behind the lads...
KICK-OFF AT 7:30pm...
C'mon You Mighty Romans!!!

The Help Continues To Pour In...
We continue to be overwhelmed by everybody's concern and generosity...
We would like to say a massive thank you to Duncan Heath and all at
Euro Carpets
& Furniture, Victoria Road, Fenton for very kindly replacing the carpet for us for free! A very generous gesture for which we are all very grateful!
Many thanks to
everyone at
Redgate Clayton FC
for their generous donation of £250 towards our emergency fund!
