Club Statement

Rocester Football Club have today parted company with Manager Paul Wright.

Decisions like this are never easy to make, even more so in Paul's case.

Since taking on the role in September 2019, he has always had the clubs' interests at heart;

His enthusiasm and commitment have never been less than 100% and he has been excellent to work alongside.

However, following our disappointing start to the season and Saturday's early exit from the F.A. Vase, we felt the time for a change had arrived.

We thank Paul sincerely for his efforts over the past two years, and wish him every success in the future.

Saturday 4th September

This week saw the Romans gain a much needed point with a creditable 1-1 draw when playing at Brocton last Tuesday Night.

And so it was, with their optimism and confidence renewed (following the recent poor run), that they welcomed the 'in-form' Sandbach Utd to Hillsfield.

Although Sandbach harried and pressed (and took the lead), the Romans dug in, rode their luck, countered the opposition and thanks to two clinical finishes from 'new-signing' Challis Johnson, ran out 2-1 winners!!

Full reports are available through the 'Match Reports 2021-22' link.

So it's onward and upward to Tuesday Night when we welcome Alsager Town to Hillsfield....

**Welcome Back**

Following what has been another tough season for football clubs, the Romans are now busy getting accustomed to life in the North West Counties League Division One (South).

Last Saturday saw the Romans welcoming Wythenshawe Amateurs to Hillsfield.

The 'free-scoring' 'Ammies' are riding high in the league and as predicted, they proved to be a really tough challenge...

However, despite going down by four goals to nil, Rocester never gave up and indeed had their fair share of good spells against a team who put in one of the best performances we have seen at Hillsfield this season...

We now have two weeks to consider the positives from the last match and to prepare for the next game when we welcome the current league leaders - West Didsbury & Chorlton FC - to Hillsfield.

So C'mon you mighty Romans - You can do it!!!
