Rocester FC v Coventry Copsewood FC
MFL Division One
Kick-off 3:00pm

Following their disappointing midweek performance against Uttoxeter Town, The Romans hoped to make amends as they welcomed Coventry Copsewood FC to Hillsfield.

The starting line-up saw Jay Lovatt coming in at right-back for the injured Matt Nutt, Tommie Cooke moved into central defence following Ash Thompson's injury, Jack Dundas moved into midfield and Liam Robinson was drafted into the front three.

Rocester started in a spritely fashion and scored after just 8 minutes when Liam Robinson ran through to tap in a loose ball into the corner!
Score: Rocester 1-0 Coventry Copsewood

After just 22 minutes, Liam doubled his tally when he stabbed in a cross which just managed to cross the line.
Score: Rocester 2-0 Coventry Copsewood

Then on 25 minutes, following a failed clearance by the Romans, Sean Kavanagh stabbed in the loose ball for Coventry.
Score: Rocester 2-1 Coventry Copsewood

Following a Rocester substitution on 32 minutes due to injury,(Ollie Marsh off, Derry Creighton on), the Romans continued to apply pressure and in the dying seconds of the first half, a Rocester shot came off a Copsewood defender, rebounded off the bar and once again, that man Liam Robinson got to the ball first and tapped in for his hat trick!!!
Half-time score: Rocester 3-1 Coventry Copsewood

The Romans were up and running from the start of the second half and on the 48 minute mark, Jack Thatcher played a ball down the left to Liam Robinson who in turn, squared the ball to Jack Stevens who then smashed it into the waiting net.
Score: Rocester 4-1 Coventry Copsewood

After 59 minutes, Rocester made their second substitution (Jordan Godfrey off, Luca Sorrentino on).
The Romans continued to dominate and on 67 minutes, a cross from Jack Thatcher was met by a diving header from Liam Robinson which flew into the top left hand corner. Score: Rocester 5-1 Coventry Copsewood

Rocester made their final substitution after 70 minutes (Jack Stevens off, James Handley on).
With 15 minutes to go, Jack Dundas unleashed a curling strike from outside the box - straight into the top left-hand corner of the net!
Score: Rocester 6-1 Coventry Copse wood

On 86 minutes, Jack Dundas doubled his tally with a superb curling free kick from just outside the box and straight into the top left-hand corner of the net!
Full time score: Rocester 7-1 Coventry Copsewood

And last but not least, the 'Man of the Match' was awarded to Liam Robinson for his outstanding contribution...
Well done Liam!!
