The Romans never got into gear as Stockport Town stamped their authority all over this game….

Town's first goal came after just 6 minutes when Mike Elstone ran at the Rocester defence and unleashed a powerful shot from the edge of the 18-yard box past Charlie Wood and into corner of the Roman's goal.

Rocester 0 - 1 Stockport

Over the next 20 minutes, Town created numerous chances but failed to extend their lead thanks mainly to some sterling work by Rocester's keeper Charlie Wood.

In the 28th minute, the game was delayed for 10 minutes or so as one of the linesmen suffered a leg injury and was unable to continue. Fortunately, Rocester's chairman (Paul Wood) agreed to stand in and so the game resumed.

In the 39th minute, Mike Elstone’s shot rebounded off the post and took an unfortunate touch off Charlie Wood and rolled into the back of the net.

Rocester 0 - 2 Stockport.

In the 45th minute, Elstone found himself in a 'one on one' with Roman's keeper but his shot was well saved by Charlie Wood…

Half time Rocester 0 - 2 Stockport.

Stockport continued to maintain the pressure and within 2 minutes of kicking off for the second half, Max Dickov picked up a loose ball inside the Rocester box and smashed it against the underside of the crossbar and into the goal.

Rocester 0 - 3 Stockport.

At this point, Rocester made a couple of substitutions with Elisio Francisco and David Pereria coming on for Jack Stevens and Tommie Cooke.

In the 72nd minute, following yet more pressure by Town, Elstone was through on goal when he squared to Max Dickov who slotted it home.

Rocester 0 - 4 Stockport.

In the 74th minute, the Romans made their final substitution when Derry Creighton was replaced by Oli Griffiths.

In the 81st minute, more great work by Mike Elstone down the right saw him find Kai Johnston who fired past the keeper.

Rocester 0 - 5 Stockport.

In the 84th minute, Stockport were denied another goal when Charlie Wood made a string of amazing saves in quick succession.

However, in the 90th minute, Town notched up their 6th goal when Jamie Wrench drilled the ball in from a corner.
