Steve Swanwick Appointed First Team Manager
A little more than six weeks after taking over the first team manager's job on a caretaker basis, Steve Swanwick has this week accepted the position permanently.
Steve has seen his team win six out of the eight games he has taken charge of since taking over from Damian Grocott and Andy O'Connor at the end of January, and with the backing of the players he is delighted to remove the 'caretaker' tag from his job title.
"I'm really happy with how things have gone so far, and I'm looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead." He said.
"The time was right not only for me personally but for the players - they need to know who is going to be in charge and what is happening within the club."
"We want to stabilise things, there's still a lot at stake this season and although I don't want to look too far ahead at the moment I am looking to go into next season from a position of strength."
Chairman Dave Price commented; "Steve has our full backing, he has the club and its future at heart and we will give him the time he needs."
Steve was reserve team manager between August 2006 and January 2008, and with his family connections to Rocester Football Club dating back to the 1930s he is very proud to take on the manager's role at the club.
The directors, staff and supporters of Rocester FC would like to wish Steve every success.
