Chairman & Company Secretary Resign
Rocester Football Club Chairman David Price (far left) and Company Secretary John Magness (left) have both resigned from the clubís Board of Directors with immediate effect.
David and John joined the Board in the summer of 2006 as part of the successful Elkes Eagles Juniors set-up, and David succeeded Alf Hawksworth as Chairman in December 2006.
After a lengthy background in junior football, they were both instrumental in forming and running Rocesterís youth team, which enjoyed a fine run in this seasonís F.A. Youth Cup competition before being knocked out by Rushden & Diamonds.
The youth team has already provided a number of players to the first team squad, and we are pleased to say that David and John will continue to run the youth team in the Midland Floodlit Youth League until the end of the season.
The remaining Board members would like to place on record their thanks and appreciation for all the hard work that both David and John have put in throughout the last three years. These have been particularly tough times both on and off the field, but they have always done their best for the club and their efforts are greatly appreciated.
We are pleased to announce that Paul Wood has taken on the role of Treasurer.
Paul made 65 appearances in goal for the Romans before injuries forced him to retire from the game in December 2008, but he has remained a familiar face around Hillsfield having kept a keen interest in the club and we are very pleased to have secured his services in an important role.
