Paul Williams joins Rocester...
Former Premier League star Paul Williams has this week signed for Rocester.
Burton born Paul, now 35 years old, began his career with Derby County before moving on to Coventry City in 1995 for a near £1M fee. He then rejoined his old Coventry boss Gordon Strachan at Southampton where he was part of the 2003 F.A. Cup Final Squad.
Paul also had a spell with Stoke City between August 2003 and February 2005 but only made 20 appearances for the Potters due to injury problems.
He is the proud owner of six England U-21 caps which were earned during his time with Derby County, and he won 'Player of the Season' awards at both Derby and Coventry City.
Both Williams and recent signing Tommy Johnson trained at Hillsfield on Thursday evening, but due to other commitments they are unable to play for another ten days or so. Following that they will be available for the rest of the season.
A second signing...
Chris Sumner has also signed for the Romans this week.
Midfielder Chris has joined from Stone Dominoes, he can play wide on either side, and should be a useful addition to the squad.
