Rocester have appointed Andy O'Connor to
work alongside Damian Grocott as joint-manager.
O'connor, who previously managed North West Counties team Stone
Dominoes, was welcomed at Hillsfield this week.Grocott, who is currently
assisted by Mick and Paul Ede at the club, says he is delighted with the
support.
He said: "Andy has a wealth of experience and he did well at Dominoes.
"He's a lad who I like and I've grown up with him.
"He wanted to come back into football and we can use his experience.
"Andy's come in to help myself out and assist Mick and Paul Ede
coaching. No-one is being pushed out. It's just a situation where Andy's
knowledge of local players and contacts will help the club.
"It's all about progression in the club and about moving us forward and
I think Andy can help to achieve that."
O'Connor was introduced to the Romans squad at training on Tuesday,
along with new playing recruit John Hassell.
Hassell has had previous spells playing at Rocester and was with
Hednesford until the end of last season.
Grocott said: "He's a left sided player and he can play at left-back or
in midfield."
Hassell is likely to be involved in Rocester's FA Cup second qualifying
round match at Gedling Town on Saturday. |
